“Time Lapse”, the second ep of the French Holy Pills, was released on September 26th. The band was formed in 2016 on the outskirts of Paris and immediately got noticed for its unmistakable style.
Holy Pills – Time Lapse
We arrived a bit late but we also listened to “Time Lapse”. The Holy Pills ep consists of five pure rock songs. We could define it as a slightly old-style band for the chosen genre and for the length of the songs which oscillates around five minutes. A courageous choice at a time when public attention is at an all-time low.
We know the Holy Pills on Groover, a French site that connects professionals and bands. The guys immediately struck us for their old style punk rock style but at the same time very fresh and pleasant. We rarely get songs close to our favorite genre. Although the songs are quite long they are extremely enjoyable. We feel the influences of Jet, but also a little bit of 60s rock’n’roll.
In short, the band take different shades of rock creating a unique, pleasant and full of energy product. Among the songs that struck us the most we find ToyBoy and Magic Pills. Both cool and really loaded with these scratchy guitars that we like.
