This Wednesday, June 12, Rock for People – one of the biggest Czech festivals – is set to welcome as many as 40,000 fans at Park 360 in Hradec Králové.
Rock For People 2024
The record-breaking 29th edition of the festival offers four days of shows on eight different stages, led by The Offspring, Bring Me The Horizon, The Prodigy, Yungblud, Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, and Pendulum, including a diverse accompanying program.
Superstar Keanu Reeves is also set to join the festival with Dogstar, where he plays bass guitar.
“We are preparing our fans an experience with an unparalleled diversity and atmosphere. We are particular about creating an eventful program, which is why we have invited over 130 bands and dozens of other artists for the non-musical program to perform at Rock for People this year,” says festival director Michal Thomes and adds: “Given the extent of the program, which includes both the biggest world stars as well as the up-and-coming ones, Rock for People is the cultural event of the year.”
Over 97% of tickets are currently sold out and only a few hundred are left. Some categories, such as VIP, Comfy+, and single Friday and Saturday tickets, are completely sold out. The last remaining four-day tickets, single tickets for Wednesday and Thursday, and weekend tickets (Friday & Saturday) are available: https://rockforpeople.cz/en/tickets/ .
Fans can look forward to Slipknot singer Corey Taylor and Kerry King of the legendary Slayer with solo projects, hard-hitting metal band Parkway Drive, the legendary Pendulum, or Berlin-based post-techno punk duo Brutalismus 3000.
The line-up has also just welcomed nu-metal icons P.O.D. The band was invited after Bad Omens’ unfortunate cancellation of their entire European tour, including their stop at Rock for People, and the organizers were able to book P.O.D. as a replacement in just two weeks.
The Czechoslovak music scene is represented by e.g. J.A.R., Vypsaná fiXa, Mňága a Žďorp, Anna Vaverková, Good Times Only, Annet X, Smack One, or Redzed. As per tradition, a performance from a legendary Czech artist is also taking place, this time from Petr Spálený and his Apollo Band; and as usual, the concert will be attended by over 100 elders from Hradec Králové. Connecting generations and breaking down barriers, this retro segment has brought performances from Karel Gott, Marie Rottrová, or Václav Neckář.
The overlaps in the festival’s dramaturgy, which add to its charm, will also appear in the form of classical music ensemble Prague Philharmonia Covers, or Božejáci, a firefighters’ brass band that will undoubtedly become the largest band on stage.
